Bagh Valley

Bagh District is one of the ten districts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan. The district, which have been a part of Poonch District, was created in 1988.

The district is bounded through Muzaffarabad District and Hattian Bala District to the north, Poonch District to the south, and Poonch district of the Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir to the east; it’s miles bounded via the Punjab, Rawalpindi District and Abbottabad District of Pakistan’s North-West Frontier Province to the west. The overall vicinity of the district is 770 square kilometers. Bagh District is connected to Muzaffarabad by using two roads, one through Sudhan Gali (80 km) and the other via Kohala (97 km). It is located forty six km from Rawalakot. The district’s headquarters is positioned at Bagh. It is stated that a bagh (garden) became set up by way of the landowner where the premises of the Forest Department are actually positioned. As a result, the area that is now the district headquarters become named “Bagh”.
